If you haven’t heard of Pinterest, you soon will. If you know about Pinterest, but have yet to join in on the fun, come see what all the fuss is about. Learn how to create your own Pinterest pinboards as well as become a “pinner” for the VoiceCatcher Pinterest community site.
What is Pinterest?
Pinterest is a pinboard-style social sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests and hobbies. Users can browse others’ pinboards for information and inspiration, “re-pin” images to their own collections, “like” pins/photos or comment on them. Each image is linked to the originating website. With a mouse-click, you can connect to the home website, allowing you to print articles, purchase items or read a favorite blog entry.
Sound “Pinteresting”? Here’s a 14-minute YouTube tutorial to find out more.
How can you get started?
Currently, Pinterest is an “invitation only” website, but VoiceCatcher is inviting you to join ours right now. Simply send your email request to pinterest(at)voicecatcher(dot)org (changing the “at” and “dot” to conventional symbols, of course) and we will send you an invitation. Once you receive the acceptance email from Pinterest, start browsing and start creating. You will need to set up your own board with at least one image before you can post to another user’s board. Don’t be shy, it’s easy and fun!
Want to become a “pinner” on our community pinboard?
One of the best things about Pinterest is sharing with others. Our VoiceCatcher pinboards are chockfull of helpful tips, favorite reads, submission opportunities and more. Help us build our current pinboards – or suggest new ones – by first re-pinning one of our images. We will then re-pin an image on your pinboard, creating a “Pinterest relationship.” VoiceCatcher will then grant you authorization to pin onto any of our pinboards, creating the true flavor of our community.
Please join us. VoiceCatcher has a diverse community of artists and authors and, when it comes to pinning ideas, the more, the merrier.
