We received fifty-six submissions only to discover that many were already in use by other organizations. The judges — Tiffany Abrams, Ginger Duncan, Lisa Maier, Helen Pucilowski, Deb Scott, Lisa Sudo and Celina Wigle — pondered the remaining entries, but couldn’t find the perfect fit.
Suddenly, they recognized that THE name was staring them in the face all the time: VoiceCatcher. It carries the history of our organization as well as our commitment to connect, inspire and empower local women writers and artists in this new venue. So, we’ve chosen the well-known name that people have grown to love over the past six years.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to submit: Nyla Alisia, F.I. Goldhaber, Tricia Knoll, Margot Lavoie, Rose Lefebvre, Lisa Maier, Joan Maiers, Elisabeth Miles, Liz Nakazawa, Sue Parman, Jennifer Pratt-Walter, Shirley Plummer, Katharine Quince, Deb Scott, Lisa Sudo, Lindy Thibodaux, Lisa Valle and F. Zarod.
To honor your efforts, we held a random drawing for our workshop certificate. The winner is Tricia Knoll. Congratulations, Tricia!
Thanks again to all of you for helping us on this journey. We have wisely returned home.
