The Milwaukie Poetry Series Committee and the Ledding Library of Milwaukie are delighted to continue the Tenth Season of the Milwaukie Poetry Series with a reading by Lois Rosen. Thank you all for your support!
This will take place on Wednesday, April 12,2017 at 7 PM in the Pond House at 2215 SE Harrison in Milwaukie adjacent to the Ledding Library.
Lois Rosen’s award-winning poems and stories have appeared in over a hundred journals including: Calyx, Willow Springs, VoiceCatcher, Hubbub, Alimentum: theLiterature of Food, The New Verse News, and The Night, and the Rain, and theRiver. She leads two Amherst Writing Workshops in Salem, where she’s taught Creative Writing at Willamette University and English as a Second Language at Chemeketa Community College. She’s also taught English in New York, Japan, Costa Rica, and Ecuador.
Lois received an MFA in fiction from the Rainier Writing Workshop, which awarded her a Deborah Tall Memorial Scholarship. Traprock Books published her first poetry collection, Pigeons, in 2004. Tebot Bach published her second poetry book, Nice and Loud in 2015. In 2016, the debut Portland Liars’ League presented her story “The Hollywood Life” at the Literary Arts Auditorium, and the Willamette Writers Conference awarded her story, “Herring,” the Kay Snow Award first prize in Fiction.
Lois grew up in Yonkers, New York in a tiny apartment. She’s lucky to have lived over half her life in Salem on nine wooded acres with her husband Kevin and their cat Pauline.
The Pond House is located 2215 S.E Harrison in Milwaukie. Turn at the light on SE Harrison and McLoughlin and go four blocks east past the Ledding library to the Pond House.
