VoiceCatcher editorial team member and newsletter contributor, Darlene Pagán, has published two poems in the Winter 2011 issue of The Barefoot Review (http://www.barefootreview.org/winter2011.html#darlene_m_pagan) .
“Biopsy” and “Janus” vividly describe moments with her son Blaine who was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder two years ago, at the age of two, called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. This disorder entails the body rejecting food and, in Blaine’s case at the moment, all food.
The Barefoot Review publishes original written work by people who have or have had physical difficulties in their lives, from cancer to seizures, Alzheimer’s to Lupus. It is also a place for caretakers, families, significant others and friends to write about their experiences and relationships to the person.
