As we put the finishing touches on the second issue of VoiceCatcher: a journal of women’s voices & visions, our own vision as editors became clear: The new online format was providing a place for local women – from the newly skilled to the experienced pro – to share their passion frequently, something which wasn’t possible with our annual print anthologies. We felt grateful to create a venue which could offer more than one opportunity for publication each year, and we now look forward to sharing many more of your voices and visions in the future.
Once again, we were impressed by the quality of work and breadth of material included in the more than 100 pieces of poetry and prose and the dozens of art submissions we received. Thank you for entrusting us with your personal expressions, and for your willingness to revisit your pieces if editing was needed. The final collection of talented writers and artists represented in this issue combine to tell a story of who VoiceCatcher is: a diverse group of women dedicated to their craft and to the support of their greater Portland/Vancouver area peers.
We are very proud of our Winter 2013 edition. When you delve into it, we know you will feel inspired, empowered and connected to our VoiceCatcher community.
