Dear writers: it’s back to school/desk/pen/notebook/keyboard time. Please join me, on September 25th, we’ll talk about seasons and writing, learning new aspects of craft, talk about new influences, our fears and superstitions, we’ll talk about whatever stops us in our tracks, talk about leaving all that nasty stuff in the rear-view mirror as we move forward with what is positive and inspiring, as we write our next poem, essay, short story, or novel.
As an emerging poet, I will speak mostly from that point of view. I have decades of expertise in the phenomenon of fears and doubts, dark laws and stumbles, and I am willing to share about all of that, unabashedly. What about coping mechanisms for dark times, what about exit strategies to move away from paralysis? I have found some ways out of the dark, and I hope to learn from all of you as well.
We are writers, we express ourselves — let’s get back to that, let’s get ready to enroll in a workshop, read more books of poems, get that next piece written, that chapbook compiled, that collection submitted. Let’s move forward into fall, a great time to create our strongest, brightest, most meaningful work.
