Spring 2018: A Letter from the Managing Editor

Posted on 06.13.18 by VoiceCatcher

“Faith” by Nicole Williford

Welcome to VoiceCatcher’s Spring 2018 Issue. This year has been one of changes. Most notably, waves and waves of people who identify as women are shouting their stories, demanding to be heard. Among our prose authors you will find women unearthing old secrets, fiercely and without apology. One woman braves high seas and stands up as the lone voice of reason against men who underestimate her. Our poets address love and loss and what it is to be female. They demand we all listen. Our artists boldly explore womanhood, drawing us in deep and leaving us to stay and think.

We’ve experienced quite a few changes at VoiceCatcher. We have a new president, a new managing editor, and a new group of editors. We’ve expanded boundaries for accepting submissions. We are asking our writers to push boundaries, to obliterate them.

We are grateful to the editors for all of their work. We are especially grateful to the authors who were willing to write themselves raw and then work with editors. We thank the artists who put themselves on canvas and collage. We are honored to have your words and your art.

Our Spring 2018 Issue has been a labor of love, and we are very proud to present it to you now.

Edee Lemonier, President
Desirée Wright, Managing Editor
