Fall 2018 Poetry: Introduction

Posted on 12.02.18 by VoiceCatcher

As we approach the end of 2018 we are proud to add a variety of strong female voices to the voices of society at large who have been speaking out about long overdue and necessary changes to the way our society views and treats women.

This year, women’s rights, sexual assault and harassment and other women’s issues have been at the forefront of our minds and television screens. In this issue, our writers tell stories of their lived experiences and the ideas and changes that they hope will one day be reflected in our world.

These poems reflect the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the influence this landscape has on those who live here. They do not always offer solutions but instead help us see the value of the questions themselves and the importance of the act of asking them.

These voices are speaking truth and through that truth hope to create a better future.

We thank them for their contributions.
