Art by Michaela Coffield

Size: 10″ x 10″

Medium: Embroidery

Statement: I like to start with the rainbow, to give it a little structure and shape, then I fill it in with whatever feels right. If it doesn’t feel right, I cut my stitches out and begin again.

Michaela Coffield (b. Oakland, California) lives and works in Portland, Oregon. With her work, Michaela aims to create a feeling of welcoming, warmth, and connection. She uses a variety of art mediums and materials but especially loves zines, embroidery, letterpress, cardboard, and anything that involves paper, an exacto knife, and office supplies. Her work has been shown at Adjacent to Life Gallery in New York, as well as in numerous living rooms across the US. She graduated in 2018 with a BFA from Oregon College of Art and Craft, with a concentration in book and print. www.michaelacoffield.com
